Errors and early runs too much for 11u TEAM to overcome in DFC tourney

The 11u Lightning played in their home Desert Fall Classic this weekend. Going into the weekend, the boys had played good baseball games in their league playoffs. They looked to continue this play into the weekend. Sadly, games filled with errors led to a 1-3 record on the weekend.

Alfonso C and Xzavian J had good weekends doing work both behind the plate and on the mound. Kyle J, Luke L, and Santiago W provided solid offense, and Eli A and Brady S had good performances on the mound.

In every game the other team scored runs first. Against Team Texas and Louisville Sandlot, the early deficit was too much to come back from. The boys were able to have a late game push against Capistrano and come out with a win. Over a long period of time though, playing games from behind will usually result in a loss. On offense first, the boys do a good job of being aggressive early. Now, they need to learn to compete with that same aggression on defense to keep the other team from taking an early lead.
