Over the Mother’s Day weekend, the 12u team competed in the Dry Heat Showdown in Las Vegas.  The team opened up with SN Baseball.  Despite a strong start from Sebastian L and quality relief work from Devon G, the team dropped the opener 8-5.  Vinnie R, and Devon G kept the team in the game with RBI hits and Cooper C added a 2 run double.  The team brought the tying run to the plate in the last inning but needed one more hit to complete the comeback.

Next up was the Mean Machine out of California.  Despite falling behind early the team posted 3 spots in the first and second innings to take the lead.  Everybody in the lineup 1-9 contributed to the early lead.  Braden S struggled in his start and it was up to Robert C to save the day.  He came in the 3rd inning and got the team out of a bases loaded, 1 out jam, and proceeded to throw 2 scoreless innings to secure the win.

The team battled the Tri City Venom in their first playoff game on Sunday.  This was a tight game throughout due to an impressive start from Kaleb S.  However, the Lightning bats just couldn’t get the big hit, after a brief rally in the 4th to bring the game to 6-2.  However, a late rally by the Venom allowed them to pull away for a 10-2 victory.

This was another learning experience for the team, as they continued to grow, and different players continue to step up.

KEEP PRESSING ON TEAM!
