Game 1 of the tournament was against Cannon Club. The Lightning jumped out early to an 8 run lead. The offense was led by Ridge O. and Rocco G. each collecting 2 hits. Alex S. reached base both times with a big at bat being a big double. Mason D. had a great start throwing 3 innings with 8 punch-out's. He dominated the opposing hitters early in the game. Cannon Club battled back to make it competitive, but the Lightning came out victorious 10-6.

The second game of the day was a matchup with Las Vegas Swing. The Lightning scored a run in the first and second, but that’s all the offense could produce. Jake G. produced an outstanding start for the “Bolts.” He limited the opponents to 2 runs over the first three innings keeping them off balance. Then, the opponents started to hit everything. Capturing 13 hits total in the game, their offense was too much to handle. Swing won the game 10-2. Rocco G., Marco C. and Vincent S. had the only hits for the Lightning.

On Championship day the 9U Lightning earned the 4 seed, earning a matchup against the top seed Las Vegas Swing. Marco C. started on the mound and quieted the bats early. Poor defense allowed for extra runs early in the game for the opponents. The 2nd time through the order, the opponents started hitting everything hard. The Lightning had no matchups on the mound to quiet the bats, allowing 14 hits in this game. Swing won the game 15-7. Mason D. had a great day going 3-3.
