The 12u LVBA Lighting TEAM played in the Battle Born tournament this last weekend as they hope to improve their season record. Game 1 was played against the LV Rebels.  The Bolts came out to an early lead thanks to a double from Kole T. followed by a sac fly for Big Kat H. The game was tied 1-1 entering the bottom of the second where the Bolt’s would play there worst inning of the tournament giving up numerous free bases and allowing 6 runs to score in the bottom half. Jack P. was relentless in the strike zone throwing only 2 1/3 innings, allowing only 3 earned runs. Eisa K. collected the other hit of game by lacing a single to the right fielder. Bolts would go on and lose Game 1 10-1.

Game 2 was against the LV Wildcats. The Bolts needed a bounce back victory to make it to the Gold Division on Sunday. Game 2’s starter, Kenji O., went 6 innings, allowing 10 hits, giving up 3 runs, and striking out 2. Kenji would also add 2 RBI’s in the bottom of the 5th. The offense, led by Jack P., who went 2-3 with two doubles. Kole T, Lucas S, Ty K, and Dom L all added hits. The Bolts would go on to win the game 8-4. With the seeding still to be determined based on coin flip, the Bolts could face the LV Rebels or BLE. The director flipped the coin and it fell against the Bolts as we had to play the 3 seed instead of the 4 seed.

The LVBA Lightning faced off against the LV Rebels again who they just played a day earlier.  The bolts started off hot scoring one in the first and one in the second innings. One of those runs coming from Kole T.’s monster shot to left center. The Bolt’s only collect 3 other hits for the rest of the game. Kenji O., Chad L. and Eisa K. collect the remainder of the hits.  Not to be denied from the LV Rebel’s they put up 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth to secure the victory and move on the semifinals. Lucas S. went 4 solid innings, giving up 3 runs, on 6 hits, striking out 2. The Bolts played well this weekend, one bad inning led to falling down in the pool and having a tougher matchup.

The staff is extremely proud of these young men. The development is not going unnoticed. Great work and Keep it up!
