4th Annual LVBA MLK Clinic

On Monday, January 15th, the Las Vegas Baseball Academy hosted our 4th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day clinic.  We took advantage of some beautiful weather and 16 energetic kids to host another great day at the field. 

The morning session of the day was spent working on offensive skills including base running, sliding, bunting and ultimately hitting.  The morning session was concluded with on over the line game with Team Gomez edging out Team Vidales in a 2 run game that went down to the final at bat.

After a lunch break, we came out in the afternoon, and held our defensive sessions, which included catch and throw drills, infield and outfield defensive work as well as pitching.  The afternoon session concluded with a rematch of the morning’s over the line game.  An even more intense event featured the boys making diving plays on defense, home runs robbed and clutch hitting.  Team Gomez held on for a 14-13 win completing the sweep in a really fun way to end the day.

Overall, it was another fun experience, especially for us coaches who are given the opportunity to share our knowledge and love of the game with eager players ready to learn.  We look forward to seeing everyone next year.
