The LVBA 10u completed the October Slugfest tournament champions in the Blue division. After 1-1 in pool play with a loss to the Las Vegas Knights in game 1, (13-6) the team battled back to beat the Grizzlies 9-0 in game 2 to end pool play. The Lightning led by strong pitching and stellar defense added by 9 hits. The team entered the last day of the tournament as the 5 seed.  In the semifinal game the Lightning matched up against Vegas Storm, the 11 seed, where the Lightning pulled out a 4-2 victory behind great pitching and timely hitting to go along with two double plays. The team moved on to the championship to play the LV Knights, the only team to beat the Lightning in pool play. The championship was a fight until the very end. The Lightning took the lead in the 3rd by scoring 6 runs in the inning. With an 8-5 lead going into the last inning, the Knights put 3 on the board to take us to the bottom half of the last inning. The Lightning competed in the bottom half and walked off the Knights with a bases loaded single to left center.  That's all it took as the team took home the trophy for the second year in a row.

The team competed throughout the whole tournament, grinding out at bats, and playing stellar defense. The organization is proud to see the progress in these young men.

Great Job Guys!
