The 11u Lightning began their run in the October Slugfest tournament with a immediate rivalry game against the Utah Yard Dawgs, a top-shelf team from Northern Utah that is always around towards the end of every tournament. The Lightning defeated the Yard Dawgs 3-2, after a Marshall Minor Game-Winning 2 run home-run in the top of the 6th inning, and 5.1 fantastic innings on the mound from Kody Bialas.

After defeating the NV Road Dawgs 4-1, the boys earned the #1 seed, and a semifinal matchup against the LV 51's. After trailing for most of the game, the boys completed the comeback in the bottom of the 6th inning, beating the 51's 6-5. This gave them a Championship game matchup against the Las Vegas Longhorns, now the second time this year these two teams met in the championship game. However, the Lightning did not have a second comeback in them, falling to the Longhorns 7-3.

Overall, this team has lost 3 games through the early parts of the 11u season, with two coming in the championship games. Keep the success coming! Its very clear of the hard work these boys put in day in and day out to become the best, and the success will continue to follow!
