Teaching Principles
Condition Players Physically
Strength, speed and quickness.
Players are tested twice a year - January & June. There are 4 different drills
that are used to test players. Players are then instructed to use the different
drills learned to improve their weaknesses.
Train Players Mentally
(Players must know different skill techniques relating to movements and positioning)
This is done through practices, games, tournaments, handouts and lecture.
Players are expected to execute proper techniques regarding:
Infield/outfield play for fielding groundball & fly balls
Catching and throwing.
Pitching using a fastball and change-up.
Hitting 1, 2, 3 method.
Bunting - sacrifice, drag, push squeeze and slap bunt.
Base running - sliding, primary, secondary tagging up.
Catchers - throwing, blocking, calling a game, bunts, blocking the plate
Mental Emotional Training
Help players understand that baseball is a game of failure and you
cannot let yourself get caught up in the emotions of the game.
Our philosophy -
we do not play the opponent or the score,
WE PLAY THE GAME!
