Introduction
As part of the Las Vegas Baseball Academy is the LVBA Lightning Baseball Club organization.
This branch of the LVBA is recognized as a competitive baseball organization that
was formed in the year 2000.
In 2000 there was one 12u competitive team which traveled to Cooperstown, NY for
a week long national tournament. "In my opinion this is the best youth baseball
tournament in the country. I wish every twelve-year-old player in the country could
participate in this tournament. This tournament is all about the kids",
Mike Martin, President LVBA
Today we offer competitive teams for players 10u through 14u. We do not advertise
our teams. We find players through clinics, lessons and any other events we conduct.
Players are not replaced if a better player comes along. There is loyalty towards
players and parents throughout this organization.
Below are several reasons that make this organization successful:
- We believe in teaching accountability, respect and discipline regarding
the family, school work and the team.
- The team parents are the best support system any organization could
hope to have.
- The coaching staff consists of coaches that have competed at the
major league, minor league and college levels.
- We all understand the mental/physical development process of training.
- All teams participate in a 5-phase program which begins the middle
of January and concludes the middle of November.
- We have our own training facility complete with batting cages, bullpens
and a field.
