The LVBA SPRING LEAGUE started in 2004. In its first year there was an eight team 12u division. Each team played a 14 game schedule and then competed in a single-elimination tournament. Games were played on Friday evenings and all day Sunday. The season began in early March and concluded the third week in May. This league features competitive club/travel teams from the Las Vegas area. Teams play real baseball i.e. dropped third strike, lead-offs and pitchers holding runners on. There are some rule modifications which make the game more competitive.
This year the league has grown to five age divisions: (NEW for 2012) - 8u, 9u, 10u, 11u & 12u. Each age division will again have an eight team field. The league format will remain the same as last year: 14 game schedule with a single-elimination tournament at the conclusion of the regular season.
New for this years league:
The LVBA has teamed up with C.A.B.A. – Continental Amateur Baseball Association. The semi-final and championship teams in each age division will have an opportunity to participate in the 2012 C.A.B.A. Triple A World Series.
