The LVBA SPRING LEAGUE started in 2004. In its first year there was an eight team 12u division. Each team played a 14 game schedule and then competed in a single-elimination tournament. Games were played on Friday evenings and all day Sunday. The season began in early March and concluded the third week in May. This league features competitive club/travel teams from the Las Vegas area. Teams play real baseball i.e. dropped third strike, leadoffs and pitchers holding runners on. There are some rule modifications which make the game more competitive.
This year the league has grown to two age divisions: 11u & 12u. Each age division will again have an eight team field. The league format will remain the same as last year: 14 game schedule with a single-elimination tournament at the conclusion of the regular season.
New for this years league:
The LVBA has teamed up with C.A.B.A. – Continental Amateur Baseball Association. The semi-final and championship teams in each age division will have an opportunity to participate in the 2005 C.A.B.A. Triple A World Series.
11u National tournament will be held in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, July 25 – August 1.
12u National tournament will be held in Marion, OH July 22 – July 31.
